Koilada (Kilada)

In several of the local taverns and eateries, you may eat fish that has just been caught. Just past the large church at the far end of the harbor, the community includes a tiny local beach and an adjacent cafe-bar. However, one of the nicest sandy beaches in the Ermionida region, Lepitsa beach, is just 1 km from the village center and is a great place to go swimming and taking a bath.

The cave has been inhabited by humans for thousands of years, with evidence suggesting that it was occupied as far back as the Upper Paleolithic period, around 40,000 years ago. It has served as a shelter for various groups of people throughout different periods, and its archaeological layers have provided valuable information about the changing lifestyles, technologies, and cultural practices of ancient societies.

The yearly "Fishermans Fiesta," which is held on the second Saturday in August, is one of the festivities for which Kilada is renowned. The majority of the locals are fishermen, thus they have a sumptuous eating and drinking celebration with a variety of fish and shellfish served with regional wines. Everyone enjoys the live music and dancing during the whole evening, which occasionally features performances by well-known musicians. Kilada is a beautiful, serene location that's ideal for a vacation "away from it all."
